Enviar a email | 101 Goals In 1001 Days en Managementgoalslist | Por Craig Childs el 04-Sep-2007 |
J.D at GetRichSlowly has resurfaced an old internet meme popularized by Triplux, the 101 Things To Do In 1001 Days project.
Simply put, you make a list of 101 goals that you must accomplish in 1001 days, or under 3 years.
I encourage you to make a list of your own dreams. What would you like to accomplish in the next few years? Even if you don?t list 101 things, you could surely list a dozen. Make that list. Print it out. Post it someplace prominent so that you?re reminded of your goals daily.
Like J.D, I think it’s worth bringing up again; particularly if you’ve been looking at setting some longterm goals. Beginning with 3 years gives enough time to get into gear while making time for other things that come up.
A huge number like 101 can give you the freedom to add any smaller or inconsequential goals to the list. Once you begin ticking all of those off, the larger projects don’t seem as daunting.
The question is, What do you use to catalog the items in the list? Paper or a text document would be fine, but it would be nice to have some categorization. For instance, tagging.
The first thing that comes to my mind is a bookmarking service like Del.icio.us where you can easily add and track your submissions and deletions. When you tag an item with ‘101things’, the number of items in that tag will appear next to it - so you can easily keep track of the big number.
Adding a second tag to each item will allow some categorization. eg. ‘101things+family’
If required, you can add a URL to an item as reference. Your first goal might be to begin this list, so you can bookmark this, or J.D’s, article, and tag it ‘101things’. You also have the flexibility to extend each goal to a blog post or file on a server.
If you’re worried about privacy, don’t forget Del.icio.us has a Do Not Share option for each bookmark.

| 3 days in the Front Line, Heavy Casualties | | The Batallion War Diary merely records the casualties for the three days from the 11th -14 October 1917. There is absolutely no account of any action or of the events of those days.
The casualties were heavy. Around 10%of the notional strength were killed or wounded - over 4 times the losses of the 30th September - 1st October when the War Diary gave a relatively detailed account of the action.
