| Error in Letter dating - apologies to all The letter reported as 9th October 1917 was more likely to have been written today, 27th October 1917. I will amend the date accordingly in a few days.
The actual letter was undated. It was written after a day on the range and I could only find one possible day for that in the Battalion's War Diary. I missed a second small entry on 27th October.

| Letter from Jack to Kate June 1917 - with scan I have found another letter that is, I am afraid out of order. It was filed with other material and I didn?t recognise its significance. This letter is from Harry?s brother, Jack to sister Kate. Jack was, at the time, an Anglican Clergyman in Hull in the North of England. Kate was a nurse in London. I have certificates in midwifery and ?hygiene? that could well have been a result of the exams [..] |
