 Al repasar las reacciones por la actuación de Susan Boyle en la audición del Britain’s got talent, me entero que su vida está cargada de cosas insospechadas. En cámara ha dicho que nunca la han besado, por ejemplo. Nacida en un pueblo, Blackburn, una especie de villa así entendí, esta británica, desempleada pero voluntaria y creyente de la iglesia West Lothian, comenzó a cantar a los 12 años en conciertos escolares, más tarde en bares. Y hasta aparece en wikipedia. Según leo en otros de los reportajes, bate los records, se reseña que “Su última interpretación ha recibido más de 5 millones de visitas en la página de internet You Tube. Entre aquéllos que han hecho click para ver a la nueva estrella está la protagonista de la película Ghost, Demi Moore y su joven esposo Ashton Kutcher”. El video de su actuación se puede ver más adelante, así como el de la entrevista que le acaba de hacer Larry King de CNN.

La dama de aspecto sencillo, gordita, que tiene 47 años de edad, causante del revuelo en el concurso británico con su maravillosa voz sí, pero porque también posee un encanto que desvanece su aparente aspecto poco agraciado, y es la belleza del alma la que en definitiva se muestra. Capaz de enfrentar los retos de la edad, caramba, ante un mundo conformista de caras lindas aunque sean huecas, o muy jóvenes aunque sean simplonas. Ella, Susan Boyle sin estas disyuntivas, salió al escenario del concurso británico, con mucha personalidad, tenía de frente un público inclemente como todos los publicos.
Y es de los grandes volverse majestuosos en esos espacios, como ella lo hizo, y por eso es que al únisono del jurado de la audición quedaron atónitos. Amanda Holden se refirió al “cinismo” (adecuadamente) porque se habían reído de ella. Quedaron apenas con fuerza para levantarse a ovasionarla, fue tal el embelezamiento.
No es lo casual ser capaces de apreciar la verdadera esencia del ser humano, eso es una aptitud, una cualidad, el poseer un intimo sentimiento capaz de remover nuestra esencia fria, descompuesta o prejuiciada,
Su existencia, más que su presencia en el escenario, da para múltiples lecturas. Una de ellas, cuando le aflora eso de niño que nos imponemos esconder, cuando por el contrario, es lo que debería explorarse siempre en nuestras vidas. Es esa facultad para cautivar. Ella es también un mensaje esperanzador, tal vez la escogencia de la canción ?Soñé un sueño?, de ?Los Miserables?, fue la más apropiada forma para expresarse.

Le toca otras participaciones, para acreditarse el éxito en la final, pero ya se ha ganado millones de seres que van a estar pendiente para disfrutar como nadie su triunfo.
Susan Boyle, ¡que grandiosa eres!, su voz, su porte sencillo y ese darse sin posturas, sorprende nuestras vidas, es ella como una llegada de emociones, de reavivar ánimos perdidos. Su existencia capaz de devolver ilusiones…

Lo que escribí en mi entrada anterior y el video:
Cautiva, te conmueve, impresionante esta mujer de 48 años de edad, con una figura nada agraciada, pero bella de alma, al oirla cantar su voz la transforma. Me hizo recordar aquel sencillo hombre convertido en gigante como titulé mi entrada, a Paul Potts, ganador el 17 de junio de 2007 de la final del Britain’s got talent, al verlo nadie apostaba por él. Se llama Susan Boyle, y es el nuevo ídolo de este concurso británico. No todos los ganadores logran atrapar al espectador como ella lo ha hecho. Se quedaron “atónitos” los jueces Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan y el terrible Simon Cowell, el público soltó carcajadas en su entrada en el escenario. Pero comenzar a interpretar ?Soñé un sueño?, el auditorio se volcó en emociones ante aquella dama, desprendida y con soltura.

Britain?s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle may not have made a living from her singing just yet ? but that hasn?t stopped her making the most of her talents.
Susan is now a world-wide sensation ? but her singing talents first appeared much closer to home.
She told us: ?I do sing at church ? and I also do a bit of amateur dramatics. I sing everywhere I can, to anybody who will really listen. They would be better off with a budgie though, do you not think??
?I even performed at the Edinburgh Festival once, on the fringe. I was in a production of Romeo and Juliet. Was I Juliet? I don?t know what I was supposed to be. The tights were an embarrassment. But it was a laugh-a-minute magical for kids?.
If Susan makes it far enough in this competition, however, her audience won?t be school kids ? it?d be Her Majesty the Queen! And that would suit Susan just fine.
She said, ?Whatever comes my way, I am ready. It would be lovely to sing for the Queen. There would be less of the carry on from me, and more of the singing?.
?She is a very regal lady, very nice, so I would be nice too, and just get up there and give it a bit of wellie.?
And Susan isn?t worried that the showbiz life would send her off the rails like so many stressed-out stars before her. She laughs, ?It?s a challenge. Life is a challenge sometimes but this is different. And I like to test myself?.
?If it all gets too much and they lock me up, I want a great big straight jacket with spots on it. A pink one??
??And a big zip on the back so I can escape!?

Susan’s Easter story13 Apr 09
It?s been quite a weekend for BGT sensation Susan Boyle.
The 47 year-old singer, who delighted everyone with her powerful performance of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Mis on Saturday?s show, hasn?t let stardom go to her head.
Instead she turned up for church as usual on Easter Sunday morning, reportedly receiving rapturous applause from her friends in the congregation.
She said, ?It was incredible. Although we sing in church not a lot of them know how good I was, so it was a bit of a shock for them?.
?Everyone is very nice and it?s lovely when all the kids stop me in the street to congratulate me.?
Many of the churchgoers know Susan well ? but for different reasons. Currently unemployed, the singer devotes a lot of time doing community work on the church?s behalf.
She told us, ?I like to help out where I can and I mostly do voluntary work. I help out the elderly, stuff like that. And I visit people in hospital. I?ve been doing that for a year and a half now?.
It?s been a tough time for Susan, who now lives alone in her childhood home following the death of her 91 year-old mother, Bridget, in 2007.
But Susan?s positive attitude - as well as her desire to keep busy - has kept her spirits up.
She told us, ?A lot of things can happen that have been really sad and you?ve got to cover it up. You either laugh or you?d greet (cry). And we?d all be greeting, that would be a terrible mess?.
?Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone. I don?t intend to be alone for long?.
Judging by the many messages of support on this website, Susan has millions of new friends and fans out there, for starters. And the people of West Lothian are certainly behind her all the way!
She smiled, ?The whole village is cheering me on. West Lothian would wish me well, I hope, that is the kind of community it is?.
?And I will be doing my best. Before I left, they told me, ‘If you can behave yourself and stop your carry on, you will do well. You can sing okay’?.
?Who am I to let them down??

Llevaba todo el día, esperando ver los datos de la audiencia del episodio piloto de Los Muertos Vivientes. Pues bien, no podemos mas que alegrarnos, ya que ha batido record de espectadores.
