This is me reading the last part of The Grinch for you all. I see it as a Holiday treat. :)
To add context as to why I chose The Grinch, I would have to take you back to the late 1980s. I am in elementary school. The books by Dr. Seuss are among the first ones I read and understand in English. These are also accompanied by my love for Where the Sidewalk Ends. I remember reading these without getting tired. English had come alive and I was just so enthralled with the stories/poems. At home, I had my own study area and I would read book after book in one seating. I would have to reminded that it was time to stop, time to sleep, time to eat. My sisters were avid readers as well, but they were a bit older than I and so I was an only child in a lot of respects. I used to lose track of time and travel to worlds only a child can imagine.
This is why I insist on reading to my kids as part of our academic day. I have read them my favorites, which include poems, stories, fables, and even chapter books.
As for this audio, I believe we can all be or become the Grinch...this is not hard to do with all these layers of consumerism around us. I love how Dr. Seuss sent a message without the message being obvious or sounding preachy. It is a talent to write with a purpose in mind, but not let this purpose become a pulpit. As I sit here, I hear the rain outside the balcony and I am thankful I can still read these stories with the same wonder as I did all those years ago.

| Desliz: Difusión Cultural Aternativa | La Habana | Desliz es un proyecto de difusión cultural alternativa, realizado desde La Habana, Cuba.
Desliz trabaja para establecer puentes entre la actividad literaria y artística de autores vivos de todo el mundo. Su quehacer es el de acercar y difundir el arte y la literatura de cubanos y extranjeros, así como entre cubanos residentes en la isla y emigrados.
Desliz pretende además comunicar las distintas disciplinas y propiciar así un ámbito interactivo entre las ramas del conocimiento humano.
Desliz nació en La Habana, en octubre de 2007, como idea original de Lizabel Mónica, su coordinadora hasta hoy. Sin embargo, se trata de un proyecto propiciado por un uso constante del trabajo con redes humanas de distinto tipo y alcance. Este, junto al aprovechamiento de herramientas gratuitas y el apoyo en el sofware libre o freeware, además de una amplia gama de estrategias de intercambio alternativas a la
transacción monetaria directa, constituyen nuestras bases logísticas.
